St. Mary of the Angels
St Mary of the Angels was founded as a residential facility for children with varying degrees of disability by the Franciscan Sisters in 1968 on land donated to them by local couple Denis and Mary Doyle in 1964. Thanks to the pioneering vision and forward thinking of the Franciscan Sisters it gained widespread recognition as a model of care unlike any other. In May 2005, services and ownership were transferred from the Franciscan Sisters to the Hospitaller Order of St John of God.

Killorglin Archive Society
The aim of the Killorglin Archive Society is collecting, collating and archiving old photographs, recordings and films that capture the essence of life in Killorglin parish over the last century. This will greatly enhance our knowledge of the history and folklore of our ancestors. At present over 15,000 photographs have been generously donated and archived with some going back over 100 years.
Puck Fair
Puck Fair – in Irish this is Aonach an Phoic, meaning “Fair of the He-Goat” is one of Ireland’s oldest fairs.Every year a goatcatcher goes up into the mountains to catch a wild goat. The goat is brought back to the town and the Queen of Puck, traditionally a young school girl from one of the local primary schools, crowns him King Puck. This signifies that the festivities may begin! On the 3rd day – minus his crown – he is brought down to be led back to his mountain home.

Kerry Woollen Mills
Kerry Woollen Mills is one of the last surviving traditional woollen mills still manufacturing in the beautiful Kerry countryside. Established over 300 years ago to alleviate local poverty the mill drew on the adjacent River Gweestin for the power to drive its machinery and the water to wash and dye its wool. The mill was bought over by the Eadie family in 1904 who had previously been in the woollen manufacturing business for many years in Fermanagh and Scotland and continues under the fourth generation of family ownership to this day.
