RDI Hub: A Testament to Innovation and Community in Killorglin

A World-Class Innovation Hub in the Heart of Killorglin

Killorglin is a town where entrepreneurship and innovation thrive. The RDI Hub is proof of this. Over the past five years, it has helped businesses grow, supported new ideas, and put Killorglin on the map as a technology and business hub. We are lucky to have such world-class facilities in our town.

The RDI Hub, backed by Fexco, Munster Technological University, and Kerry County Council, has supported startups and large companies alike. It has driven growth in industries such as fintech, AI, construction, and tourism.

Investing in the Next Generation

One of the most exciting initiatives linked to the RDI Hub is the STEM Passport for Inclusion. In 2024, this program gave 500 female students in Munster access to STEM education. Partnerships with Maynooth University, Microsoft, and MTU are helping shape the future of tech right here in Kerry.

A Celebration of Community and Business

The five-year anniversary event was a testament to the energy and ambition within Killorglin. Industry leaders from Microsoft, EY, and Munster Technological University took part in panel discussions. Minister Norma Foley and MEP Seán Kelly also attended, showing the national significance of the hub.

But what makes Killorglin special is more than just business—it’s the community and quality of life. After the event, many gathered at Kingstons Bar & Townhouse to celebrate. This moment captured what Killorglin is all about: a great place to work, but an even better place to live.

Looking Ahead

The success of the RDI Hub shows that world-class innovation can happen outside major cities. As the hub grows, so does the potential for Killorglin and the wider Southwest region. Here’s to the next five years of success!
