We are thrilled to announce that Killorglin has received significant funding support from The Heritage Council to create an invasive species management plan for the proposed Killorglin Town Park. This funding, applied for through the Killorglin Chamber Alliance, adds to the ongoing efforts to enhance our community spaces.

The Town Park Steering Group has advanced this project, and Killorglin Tidy Towns has maintained the park beautifully. Their dedication ensures the park remains a welcoming space for all. Situated by the scenic Laune River, the park is a cherished community asset.

Additionally, there is a planned meadow within the park, as part of a national diversity pollination plan. Over the coming months, a team of environmental scientists and ecologists will survey the area. They will develop a comprehensive plan to prevent ecological damage, preserve native habitats, and maintain the park’s unique ecosystem for future generations.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Town Park Steering Committee for their hard work in putting the application together. We also thank Killorglin Tidy Towns for their ongoing efforts in maintaining and beautifying the park.

Stay tuned for updates as we progress with this important project!
