The Crib will be up for this event as well as the Christmas tree in the square.

See you on December 7th and let’s kick Christmas off in Killorglin with a big Ho Ho Ho…

Memory Tree Ceremony

The Memory Tree Ceremony gives us all the opportunity to come together and celebrate our lost loved ones at this special time of year with an ecumenical service.  On hand to help us create a little festive mood will be the Men’s Social Club and Oh Happy Day Ladies Choirs singing some festive tunes  There will be mulled wine and mince pies courtesy of Jones Eurospar.  The memory tree certificate (€10) can be purchased from Eurospar, CYMS and Bunkers Bar or directly from Eoghan O’Grady.  All proceeds go directly to the Irish Pilgrimage Trust. The event will take place on Saturday, December 21st after 6 pm Mass.

Christmas Lights

This year as well as the main Christmas tree in the square, we will have over 120 individual Christmas trees with lights festooned around the town on individual buildings. This new initiative is a collaboration between Killorglin Chamber Alliance, traders and publicans throughout the town.

In preparation for this initiative, permanent fixtures have been attached to each building taking part. The brackets will be multi-functional as flags can be attached for future events and celebrations.

In addition, Killorglin Chamber Alliance is working on a proposal for sustainable high-quality event lighting which can be utilised by other community organisations at different events and occasions throughout the year.

A study is taking place which will focus on a best fit for the town. We hope to share a progress update in our next newsletter.

Thank you!
